response to shrek the movie :: essays research papers
Film ResponseIts always grave to pick a single favorite movie, because there are so many fair ones. If I had to pick a favorite it would be a bye up between Gladiator, and Old School. I have a hard time choosing between comedy, and action. I would have to regulate that Gigli staring Ben Affleck, and J-lo is the to the lowest degree favorite movie of mine. In my opinion Gigli had a cock-a-hoop plot, bad acting, and was to long. I recently have seen the Client which was writer by tail Grissim. The Client was originally a book, and like a lot of his overwork was great. The Client had a great plot, and incredible acting. Its easy to say Im a movie buff I love life to rent movies and go to the theater as much as possible. I recently stop renting movies, because the late fees were killing me, so my subject now is to just by the new releases I like. It just makes understanding if you consistently have late fees it is cheaper to just buy the movie. My latest dissipate experience was Shrek 2. Shrek 2 is a new release animation film. This is a great flick using the new state of the art animation. Shrek is non just a kids movie, tho adults also note it funny. The movie is about an ogre named Shrek, who lives in a swamp. Shrek spent his entirely life living in sham, because he was an ogre, and all the other creatures, and hatful felt threatened by him. Shrek meets a donkey played by Eddy Murphy, and they become friends. Later in the movie Shrek meets a pulchritudinous princess named Fionia. Shrek, and Fionia fall in love, and go to ask for her father the king for his commendation in marriage. Instead they run into s invariablyal problems the king does not honor of the marriage, and tries every thing in his power to separate them. The king opposed their marriage, because a princess can not marry an ogre, and live happily ever after... Shrek and Fionia are ugly green ogres who are constantly mistreated for their looks and race, but over come all the ste reo types. Shrek teaches people not to legal expert other people by their race, color or looks. The movie has a great lesson to teach kids, but I know some adults that could realize as well.

Kennedy Assassination Essay -- essays research papers
prexy Kennedy was dead. I stopped by a giant live oak direct on the vast front lawn of Parkland Hospital and cried." As this reporter said, people everywhere were distraught when they heard that President Kennedy had been assassinated. News reporters from otherwise countries flew in, called up, and sent letters back to tell the people in their pastoral what had happened and to give advice to the Dallas Police Station. Every angiotensin-converting enzyme everywhere was upset by this tragic loss. batch were sent home from work, kids sent home from school, and an entire nation with one question, who? The only answer that was given and is still the accepted answer is that, leeward Harvey Oswald was the unaccompanied assassin in the murder of President tin F. Kennedy. The events ring President Kennedys death are still under speculation, moreover this is known for sure President Kennedy landed in Love Field, Dallas on with his wife, Jacqueline Kennedy at about 1135 a.m. They left the airport in the motorcade along with regulator Collany and followed by Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson and his wife, Claudia Lady shit Taylor. At approximately 1230 p.m., both President Kennedy and Governor Collany were shot. Lee Harvey Oswald left the Texas Book Depository just three minutes later. By 100 p.m., just an hour and a half afterward Kennedy arrived in Texas, he was announced dead.      After the assassination, Oswald got onto a city bus, and once the bus got stuck in traffic, Oswald got off. He then took a go to within 4 blocks of his house, still did not go directly to his house. Oswald grabbed a different coat, a handgun, and left without saying a word to his housemaid, who was watch the assassination details on television. He then began walking most Dallas. A police officer named J.T. Tippet saw a man that fit in the description of the assassin, so he stopped to ask Oswald some questions. Oswald dread and shot Officer Tippet an d then fled the area. He then entered a movie theater where police finally arrested him.The public was outraged that President Kennedy was murdered and precious an explanation. President Lyndon B. Johnson set up the Warren billing lead by Earl Warren to head investigation. The Warren Commission concluded that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin in the murder of John F. Kennedy. Lee Harvey Oswald had a major role in the assassination of Pres... ...ce to support a gang. A conspiracy of that level takes months to plan. If it was a conspiracy attempting to blame Oswald, then how did they come up with all the evidence in just a short prison term? Oswalds fingerprints were on the gun it is very unlikely that his fingerprints could have been on the gun in a conspiracy to blame him. The fact that President Kennedy decided less than a week before the assassination besides shows that this was one man acting alone. Oswald more then had to ability to take out the assassination, and he showed that he would kill someone like when he attempted to kill General Edwin Walker. There is also no slick evidence linking anyone to the crime besides Lee Harvey Oswald. There is nothing linking a fleck gunman to the assassination. The main argument that there is a second gunman is he would have been situated in the grassy knoll, but injuries would be on the side of the body, where there were no injuries. The Warren Commission had more evidence that conspirators do not have, and came to their conclusion. Even with all the engineering science that we have, it is apparent that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin in the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
Free Essays - Criticism of My Antonia :: My Antonia Essays
Criticism of My Antonia My Antonia by Willa Cather is a novel based on the memories of the protagonist, Jim weight. Many critics know criticized this novel, and contrive focused on such literary cistrons as symbolism, motif, and characterization. The strongest argument however is the one that states that the foundation of every element in the book is based on the personal memories of Willa Cather. Many critics have discussed the symbolism in this novel. One symbol that some critics have discussed is the plow. It was utter that the plow suggests a way of life that not only helps the undercoat to flourish but the individual as well (Brown). An otherwise symbol that many critics discuss is Marek Shimerda. The fact that Marek has webbed hands and feet sets him apart from the other normal children who seem to represent creativity and innocence (Shaw). The road that Jim Burden travels on is another symbol that critics focus on quite a bit. It is said that the road sym bolizes the road to destiny that America itself takes. (Brown). Critics have as well as pointed out that the red dust that covers everything, the intense heat, the burning wind, the wilting oak groves, and the stifling vegetation represent oppression, paralysis, submergence, and loss of vitality (as in the doddery ways of life) as opposed to the alternatives of the new world such as discovery and recovery (Holmes). One thing that many critics have discussed is that the patch of My Antonia revolves just about the ideas of childhood and the fact that the structure of the novel is centered around scenes that have to do with children. This shows up in the beginning of the book as ten year old Jim is riding the train from Virginia to Nebraska and at the end of the book when all of Antonias children are around (Shaw). A incompatible motif to that of childhood is adulthood. Throughout the book, Cather describes how adulthood has many hardships as compared to the lightn ess of childhood. Another element of the novel that critics spent a lot of sentence discussing is characterization. One critic pointed out the fact that many of the characters in My Antonia have imperfections in their physical appearance that seem to bring out the imperfections of bon ton that exist, and put the ideas of social perfection on the back-burner (Randall).

The author of the Arizona courts decision, former U.S. Senator and Arizona governor Ernest W. Virtuosity in Othello :: Literary Analysis, Shakespeare,
The character Desdemona in William Shakespe bes play Othello holds on to her dignified behavior until the very end, when her life is taken by her avaricious husband, is indicative not only of her chaste mind, but also of her unadulterated fortitude. Women of that time were largely seen mostly one of two extremes either utter(a) or licentious. Desdemonas strength as a virtuous cleaning lady are clearly illustrated in two pivotal scenes in Shakespeares play in her poise when confronted with her husbands collapse of his refined facade and in the dignified way she faces her own demise head-on, listless on affirmations, yet overflowing with grace.In Act 4, Scene 2, Desdemona proves herself as a lady in her discussion with the evil Iago, who, unbeknownst to her, is the bring of her chagrin. Although she bewails that Othello has called her a whore, she herself does not stoop to insults. Proudly, she declares, Unkindness may do a great deal and, in a moment of disturbing foreshadowi ng, states And his unkindness may bolt down my life (IV.ii. 164-65). Though virtuous to a fault, she remains dignified and affirms, I cannot even say whore. / It does abhor me now I speak the ledger / To do the act that might the addition earn / Not the cosmoss mass of conceit could make me (166-69).During the tragic conclusion of the play, in Act 5 scene 2, Othello suffocates his adored Desdemona in the erroneous ruling of her infidelity. She nevertheless departs with dignity. She does not wail but instead she merely states O, wrongly, falsely murdered (130). One is left to wonder if she is referring to herself or to Cassio regardless, these words are simply matter-of-fact and are not the emotion-driven cries one would normally continue from a person facing her own execution. Through her dying breath, Desdemona states clearly, A guiltless death I die (136). Her mistress Emilia, obviously pass over with emotion, pleads to Desdemona to name the killer, crying, Help Help, ho Help O lady, speak once more (134) and O, who hath done this deed? (137).With a quiet composure on her deathbed, Desdemona enigmatically tells Emilia, NobodyI myself. Farewell (138). Was she a self-loving character who had the magnate to love others unconditionally? Or was she a fool who accepted her lay fate in the belief that, by doing so, she was being righteous? Othello appears to be more of a weak character to succumb to misguided vanity and jealousy than Desdemona in meeting her own end with dignity.
Origin of Paper :: Essays
The word musical composition comes from the Greek term for the ancient Egyptian piece material called papyrus, which was formed from beaten strips of papyrus comprises. Papyrus was produced as untimely as 3000 BC in Egypt, and sold to ancient Greece and Rome. The establishment of enormous library at Alexandria put a drain on the emerge of Papyrus, so According to the Roman Varro, Plinys Natural History records (xiii.21), parchment was invented infra the patronage of Eumenes of Pergamum, to build his rival libray at Permagum. parchment or vellum, made of processed sheepskin or calfskin, replaced papyrus, as the papyrus plant requires subtropical conditions to grow.In China, documents were ordinarily written on bone or bamboo, making them very heavy and awkward to transport. Silk was sometimes used, but was unremarkably too expensive to consider. Indeed, most of the above materials were rare and costly. While the Chinese court official Cai Lun is widely regarded to have first d escribed the ultramodern method of papermaking (inspired from wasps and bees) from wood pulp in AD 105, the 2006 discovery of specimens mien written characters in north-west Chinas Gansu province suggest that paper was in use by the ancient Chinese military more than one hundred years before Cai in 8 BCE 1. Archologically however, true paper without writing has been excavated in China dating from the 2nd-century BCE.In America, archaeological show indicates that paper was invented by the Mayas no later than the 5th century AD.1 Called Amatl, it was in widespread use among Mesoamerican cultures until the Spanish conquest. In small quantities, handed-down Maya papermaking techniques are still practiced today.Paper is considered to be one of the iv Great Inventions of Ancient China. It spread slowly outside of China former(a) East Asian cultures, even after seeing paper, could not gauge out how to mould it themselves. Instruction in the manufacturing process was required, and t he Chinese were backward to share their secrets. The paper was thin and translucent, not like modern westward paper, and thus only written on one side. Books were invented in India, of address leaves (where we derive the name leaf for a sheet of a book). The engineering was first transferred to Korea in 604 and then imported to Japan by a Buddhist priest, Dam Jing () from Goguryeo, around 610, where fibres (called bast) from the mulberry tree were used.After go on commercial trading and the defeat of the Chinese in the Battle of Talas, the instauration spread to the Middle East, Production was started in Baghdad, where the arabs invented a method to make a thicker sheet of paper.
